D2K Cycle 2016 Event Date:
11-Jun-2016

For the fourth year in a row, the D2K Cycle is ready to leave Dunleer for the long road to Kilkenny on June 11th. The charity cycle has amassed 100 enthusiastic riders for this year’s event. Everyone once more raising funds and awareness for The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (imnda.ie) and Paul’s Fight 4 Life (www.facebook.com/paulsfightforlife)

Paul Lannon, the organiser, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in May 2011. Originally from Kilkenny but now living in Dunleer, Paul says of this year’s endeavour:

“For me D2K has been a wonderful experience and great community event that has grown every year, having a company like Halfords see it in the same way and become a partner for 2016 is just the icing on the cake. We look forward to a long future together in raising awareness and much needed funding for MND and perhaps making D2K a national event.”

Mr. Philip Barr Manage Halfords Ireland added:

“Halfords are delighted to be associated with the D2K cycle and to be able to support Paul through this excellent endeavour. It is fantastic for Halfords to be able to use our cycling expertise to support such a great community event. As Paul has said we look forward to a long and continued association.”

Paul, along with his wife Sandra, has attended a clinic in America for specialist treatment on a number of occasions. In order to maintain this essential life lengthening treatment, fundraising is very important. The D2K Cycle is the principal event to raise much needed funds. Paul continued:

“We would also like to acknowledge all the local sponsors and anyone who has donated or supported us in anyway. “

Four groups will hit the road early morning on June 11th hoping for everyone to finish safely in Kilkenny between 5pm and 6pm.
