4 X 44 X 44 Charity Event

On the 15th of April this year, Paul Kennelly, along with his uncle Mikey Mason will aim to complete 44 minutes of physical training, every 4 hours for 44 hours. Their last exercise will be on Easter Sunday at 12.00. All proceeds will go to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

“In Easter of 2001, my grandad Tony, Mikey’s Dad, received the terrible news that he was in the early stages of Motor Neurone Disease. This was probably a disease we didn’t know a lot about at the time. But over the next 2 and a half years, we found out first hand how deadly it was going to be. Tony was an amazing man, devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend presiding over us all, holding us all together. He was never idle and was always on the move in his beloved truck. I watched in disbelief as he got weaker each week, to the point where eventually he couldn’t speak, or even scratch his head. That hurt deeply and scared me like hell. Tony passed away in October 2003.
