Joe and Carmel Mahon organised walks during the month of March to raise funds for IMNDA and awareness of MND as Carmel herself had being diagnosed with the condition.
In Carmel's own words
"Since my MND diagnosis over a year ago I have been supported by the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). It is the only organisation of its kind in the country providing specialised services to families affected by this terminal condition. The MND nursing posts are funded entirely through fundraising and donations.
My husband Joe has organised the ‘100k on Knocknarea’ fundraiser with all funds raised going to the IMNDA. Your support is greatly appreciated. "
