Summit 2 Sea for MND

26 Mar 2024

“Today, I want to share with you a journey that has defined the past few two years of my life, In August of 2022 I was diagnosed with MND, this took me off the water, so I took to cycling with friends along the Wild Atlantic Way.

My last cycle was St. Patrick’s Day 2023. Shortly after that my right hand would not work and later in summer, I was not able to walk. So, Shooter organised a paddle down the Lough, and I was overwhelmed by the support of friends.

There was the seed planted and in October I was supposed to die and what a waste of knowledge, so it got thinking about leaving a legacy and what better way. Than to raise much needed funds for The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association who have gave me a chair lift, electric wheel chair and this eye gaze machine, this fundraising effort is to fund research into treatments and cures for MND.

I am setting the date for the biggest most technical challenge Ireland ever to host Summit2SeaforMND, 20th April 2024, my aim is to have teams Paddle Round Ireland & Climb to the 32 Highest points in 12 Hours (Subject to Weather)

I am asking all my friends, family, the outdoor community, clients I have had the pleasure to work with and the public to get behind my campaign.

Please follow the journey on the following social media pages. My team and I will have a website with lots more information coming soon.”
