John Beardmore originally from New Zealand and living in London is also known as the Galapagos Postman! He is on a mission to reconnect the world one letter at a time to raise funds and awareness of MND.
In 2024 John gave up his job in London for a year to take on a challenge where he collected 30+ letters from an ancient post box on Isla Floreana in the Galapagos Islands and will be delivering them by hand across the globe for the next 12 months.
He is doing this to raise awareness of the challenges people with MND face in travelling and communicating.
Today Tuesday 13th August he's in Dublin, visiting our IMNDA offices and will be live on air with Joe Duffy's Livelive radio programme on RTÉ Radio 1 delivering a letter to an unsuspecting resident in the North Suburb of Dublin!
Whilst in Dublin he is supporting the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and is urging people to make donations to support his fundraising & awareness campaign.
