Cathy Cummins, Executive Director, International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations

The Association was delighted to welcome Cathy Cummins the Exectutive Director of the International Alliance of ALS/MND to Dublin where she met with Dr Declan MacDaid Acting COO, Naomi Fitzgibbon Director of Nursing & Tracy Hutchin Community Engagement Manager at the IMNDA offices in the middle of the Drink Tea for MND campaign.

“As executive director of the Alliance, I am always blown away when I meet with member organization teams face to face. I recently had the incredible opportunity to meet with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) and the MND Association of England, Wales and Northern Ireland while abroad in Europe.

Meetings like these are a fantastic reminder that it doesn’t matter if someone has MND in Dublin or Bogota, their needs, along with the patient journey, all contain universal truths that join us together as a global community. Our member associations worldwide do a terrific job of addressing and filling the gaps between health services provided to our PALS and CALS and day-to-day patient needs.

Meetings like those I had in Europe supercharge my excitement for our annual Alliance Meeting and Allied Professionals Forum. This year in Basel, Switzerland, December 2-5, our global community will have the chance to connect and feel the same energy that only bringing a community together can provide.” Cathy Cummings Executive Director.

We look foward to joining Cathy at the Annual Alliance Meeting and Allied Professionals Forumn in Switzerland and look forward to her return again to Dublin in the future.
