Kenny Egan to attend Fight at the Wright for Motor Neurone Disease
December 2nd, 2011
Irish boxing hero Kenny Egan and RTE’s Jimmy Magee along with 34 of Ireland’s freshest amateur boxers are bringing White Collar Boxing to the exclusive ‘Wright Venue’ in Swords tomorrow Saturday 3rd December 2011.
The 34 contestants have been put through their paces at the National Boxing Stadium’s High Performance Gym over the last six weeks in preparation for the big Fight Night. Kenny Egan, straight from his win at the London Olympic Test Event, will be on hand to offer the newly trained boxers last minute advice before they take to the ring.
The night is all in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). Motor Neurone Disease is close to both Jimmy and Kenny’s hearts as Jimmy’s son Paul sadly passed away from the disease over three years ago.
Doors open at 7pm with the first fight to start at 7.45pm sharp. General Admission tickets are €20 and Premium Tickets €30 which include balcony view and entry to the members only Penthouse for the after show party. Boylesports are supporting the night by running bets so people can pop in to their local Boylesports and place a bet on any of the fighters. This even is run in association with www.whitecollarboxing.ie.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is an incurable neurological condition leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted, like walking, talking and swallowing which may become virtually impossible.
The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is dedicated to providing care for people with Motor Neurone Disease, their carers and families as well as supporting research into the causes and treatments of MND.
The IMNDA is a small organisation that relies heavily on fundraising in order to continue providing vital services to the MND community; such as assistance towards home help, provision of specialised equipment on loan and home visiting by an MND Nurse Specialist.
