Sharon Maguire from Kilkee is organising a charity walk on Sunday 21st of April in memory of her mother Mary Maguire who sadly passed away from Motor Neurone Disease.
Sharon hopes the 13K walk that departs from Kilkee Square at 2pm and finishes in Kilrush will raise vital funds that are much needed by the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).
Speaking about her mother, Sharon said, “We will never know why she was chosen but we will make sure her memory does not die so this is why on the 21st April there will be a walk in memory of her with all proceeds going to the IMNDA.
Registration for the race costs €15 and you can register on the day or online at www.runireland.com. Sponsor cards are available from McNamara’s Early till Late Shop in Kilkee or by contacting Sharon on 085-1372187 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . If you can’t make the walk on the day but would like to contribute something there is a mycharity page set up under the name “The Mary Maguire Walk” in which you can donate money into.
It will be a fun day for all the family so hope to see you there! For more information contact Sharon on 0851372187 or email: email@example.com
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is an incurable neurological condition leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted, like walking, talking and swallowing which may become virtually impossible.
The IMNDA is dedicated to providing care for people with Motor Neurone Disease, their carers and families as well as supporting research into the causes and treatments of MND.
We are a small organisation relying heavily on fundraising in order to continue providing vital services to the MND community; such as assistance towards home help, provision of specialised equipment on loan and home visiting by an MND Nurse Specialist.
