August 20th, 2014
Catherine Thomas to name a few….. has just taken on the ICE Bucket Challenge on the National Airwaves this morning and Marty Whelan helped out on the act! Catherine nominated Miriam O’Callaghan, Marty Morrison & Imelda May to take on the challenge!
Our own CEO Aisling Farrell pictured above with some of the IMNDA Team has also taken on the challenge and was featured on RTE’s 9 o’clock news which gained massive coverage for this event and also for the IMNDA. Aisling challenged Munster’s Paul O’Connell, the cast of Mrs Browne Boys and An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to participate in this viral campaign. For more on this breaking story check out the RTE player, if you go to 20.00 you will see the clip.
If you want to know why everyone is getting in on this challenge, take a look a this video and this will tell you why you should do this for Motor Neurone Disease. This video is about a young man called Joe Barnwell and his experience of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Or if you would prefer just to make a donation you can text MND to 50300 to make a €2 donation towards the cause. (100% of text goes to IMNDA across most network providers. Some providers apply VAT which means a minimum of €1.63 will go to IMNDA. Service Provider: LIKECHARITY. Helpline (01) 4433890)
Approximately €10,000 has been raised to date from this challenge! So thank you all for your support! Like us on Facebook to follow the campaign – Irish Motor Neurone Disease Assoc
