Riverdance-athon 2019
June 19th, 2019
Over 400 dancers to take part in 12-hour Riverdanceathon
in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association
Thursday 20 June
from 10am until 10pm
outside the Gaiety Theatre
Riverdance has returned home to Dublin for its summer run at the Gaiety Theatre. Each summer Riverdance supports a different charity partner and this year the charity partner will be the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). The main event of the partnership takes place on Thursday 20th June when a 12-hour Riverdanceathon will take place in front of the Gaiety Theatre.
This marathon dance session featuring cast members from the show and over 400 young Irish dancers, aims to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the work of the IMNDA. The Riverdanceathon will commence at 10am Thursday 20th June when members of the Riverdance cast will perform 3 numbers from the show on the Gaiety plaza. The cast will return at approximately 1pm, to again perform 3 numbers from the show and will bring the 12 hours to a close, rejoining the Riveredanceathon when the curtain falls on that evening’s performance after 9.30pm.
Throughout the day over 400 hundred dancers from 20 schools from all over Ireland will take part. Please pop by and support if you are in the area!
