Sunrise Up Croagh Patrick 2019

“Sunrise Up Croagh Patrick” is an annual fun walk and climb to raise funds for worthwhile charities fighting Neurological Diseases. 

This year’s event takes place on 29 June 2019. Most participants will be staying in the Westport Plaza Hotel. They have a special deal for two nights from 28 June. (Cost €209 per person sharing for 2 Nights Babb + 1 Dinner) See more info including contact details below**.

When we say climbing, its not vertical, no ropes, no scrambling, with a bit of care, its well within the reach of most people. However at the same time we will also have a 4Km or up to 12Km low level walk near Croagh Patrick for those who can’t or choose not to climb. There will be clear safety guidance to those who register for the events. To see a video of last years event click here:

The event was initially organised by John Kelly and supported by his University classmates and work colleagues. The event has grown and attracted wider support from many great people who have been affected by Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s, Motor Neuron Disease & Dementia.

John’s motivation is to improve the availability of Neurological Disease Specialised Nursing Care after he witnessed the lack of such when close family members were in need. The number of Specialised Parkinson’s Disease Nurses has fallen recently from 5 to 3 for the whole country, the IMNDA has 3 nurses and there are none for Huntington’s Disease – making the need even more urgent and acute.

Join us for drinks in the Westport Plaza Hotel

Saturday June 29th

9.30am Register / Check in at the Sunriseupcroaghpatrick Gazebo beside the Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre. Bring some coins for the car park.

10:00 Climb Croagh Patrick Or Walk 5-12 Km, low level trail.

Lunch in the Tavern Bar & Restaurant Murrisk (600m from the Croagh Patrick Car Park) when you finish (special rate available for participants and supporters)

Dinner 7.30pm at the Westport Plaza Hotel
