We are Hiring – Part Time Accounts Assistant

The IMNDA is looking to recruit for the following position:

Job title: Part time Accounts Assistant (18 Hours)

Location: Hybrid working – mix of office (Dublin 8) and remote.

Role Purpose: To assist Head of Finance in a busy office with Accounts Payable and Income Recognition duties.

Reports to: Head of Finance and Compliance

Contract Duration: Permanent on completion of probationary period

Salary: DOE

Who we are:

The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) supports people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), their families and carers across Ireland. Vital services include home visits from five specialist MND nurses, funding towards home care hours and the supply of specialised equipment on loan. We also fund and promote research into the causes and treatments of MND. On average over 85% of the IMNDA’s income comes from fundraising and donations. The Association has grown over recent years, raising more funds and supporting more families and it’s a very exciting time to join our expanding team!

Main Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Entering of Supplier Invoices into the accounting system (AIQ)
  • Seeking approval for payment of invoices from the services team, fundraising team, communications team and other departments
  • Running timely batch payments for suppliers
  • Reconciling Supplier Statements
  • Dealing with Supplier Payment Queries
  • Completion of anti-fraud checks, verification of bank details etc.

Income Recognition:

  • Opening post, recording of cheques received and entering into our CRM (Salesforce)
  • Entering income via our CRM (salesforce)
  • Making weekly lodgements at the bank
  • Dailey reconciliation of Realex, Stripe and other incomes to lodgements made to bank account.

General Duties:

  • Assist with credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with checking employee expenses payments
  • Assist with Donor Queries.
  • Assist with Grantor queries
  • Assist in the preparation of Charity VAT refund processing
  • Administrative backup to Nurses regarding Toll tags, Fuel Cards etc.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of Accountancy Software, AIQ, SAGE line 50 etc.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a similar position
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great communication skills and a kind friendly manner.

Employee Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and pro rata
  • Hours are flexible within nine to five, Monday to Friday
  • The position requires meeting other staff, opening post and making lodgements at our local bank
  • Hybrid working with approximately 40% attendance required at IMNDA office
